Kyan is turning 4

Kyan's birthday, the real one, finally arrived on June 8th. To celebrate, we went see the miniature trains at the Bouveret, before calling Daddy who has stayed in San Francisco. We still tried to blow the candles together.

And more pictures of the kids in Semsales...

Green and pastures

Funny enough, it's warmer in Switzerland than in California. Here are a few pictures of what we've been doing since our arrival: shark hunting in the inflatable pool, hot tub, bunnies, cows, tractor (graciously lent by a little neighbour), walks, and lots of fresh air...

The big Flight

I hadn't planned such a big thing when booking our tickets, but we ended up being part of an historical moment: the inauguration flight of the new non-stop San Francisco - Zurich service by Swiss Airline. We got a full delegation of swiss VIPs, photographers, cutting of the ribbon and all. And we each got a maxi Toblerone chocolate of a pound each. Multiplied by three, it's a lot to fit in an already packed carry-on, but we won't complain... New neat little thing on the plane, which has quite a terrific look: a couple of live cameras, one underneath the nose of the plane, and one underneath the hull. Quite exciting at the landing, you get to see what the pilot is seeing, minus the responsibility.

The kids did fairly well on the flight, and I got a few interesting words from Kyan. When hearing the passengers behind us talk about Switzerland, he said, all excited: "Mummy, they're going to Switzerland too!!!". Later: "Is the plane going where you want to go?". "Well, yes, that would help". "Oh, so the plane is listening to what you're saying. That's a good plane. We should take it again".

Pre-birthday Party for Kyan

Since we're never home for Kyan's birthday (we're either in Canada or in Switzerland), we decided to throw a little birthday party for him before our trip. It's starting to matter now that he's been to many of his friends' birthdays. So, since we didn't know what the weather would be like and since it was a bit of a last minute thing, we rented a little gym for the party. It seems like we all enjoyed it. A bit tricky to take pictures, though, since kids were always either jumping or running... And if you'd like to see more pictures, it's HERE.
