The big Flight
I hadn't planned such a big thing when booking our tickets, but we ended up being part of an historical moment: the inauguration flight of the new non-stop San Francisco - Zurich service by Swiss Airline. We got a full delegation of swiss VIPs, photographers, cutting of the ribbon and all. And we each got a maxi Toblerone chocolate of a pound each. Multiplied by three, it's a lot to fit in an already packed carry-on, but we won't complain... New neat little thing on the plane, which has quite a terrific look: a couple of live cameras, one underneath the nose of the plane, and one underneath the hull. Quite exciting at the landing, you get to see what the pilot is seeing, minus the responsibility.
The kids did fairly well on the flight, and I got a few interesting words from Kyan. When hearing the passengers behind us talk about Switzerland, he said, all excited: "Mummy, they're going to Switzerland too!!!". Later: "Is the plane going where you want to go?". "Well, yes, that would help". "Oh, so the plane is listening to what you're saying. That's a good plane. We should take it again".
