Mendocino

Quick trip to Mendocino for the weekend. Mendocino, it's a tiny town, very quiet, on the cliffs about 2 hours North of San Francisco. Overcast most of the time, except for a glorious sunset, when the sun finally moved below the clouds...

By the Golden Gate Bridge

November not so chilly. Kyan had a day off from school and daycare. Excellent excuse to leave work early and go to the beach.

Seaside

The best week of the year is back, a week by the Mediterranean in the South of France with our family... Sadly, Michael didn't make it this year... Lots of sand, waves and sun...

Weekend in Los Angeles

After numerous failed attempts, we finally made it to our friends in LA (Santa Monica to be fair, it's much nicer then just LA). Kyan, Anastasia and I drove down on Friday, and Michael joined us on Sunday. What a treat to see the Doreaux again, to chat while sketching with Delphine, and the kids were thrilled to see their buddy Etienne again. We even managed to go see the dinosaurs at the museum, and the mammoths at the Tar Pit.
And about the pictures taken at the beach, all three kids were wearing clothing from my creation. What an honor...

Tiny waves

Success... We managed to take the kids kayaking... The last time we tried, their screams alarmed half of the people on the beach. This time we went for a nice trip between the boats and visited the seals.

Our little bicycles...

The new bikes are going really well. Michael made a little movie about their adventures with the kids. And no, the movie wasn't shot in 1956... To view the movie, click HERE...

January at the beach

Our Summer finally showed up, sometime between the end of December and the middle of January. We even went to the beach on Saturday, and we weren't the only ones. The kids enjoyed building islands and volcanoes, and digging rivers for their dinosaurs.
That was on Saturday. On Sunday, we were back in big sweater mode, the temperatures are freezing every night, and we already experienced our first power loss of the year (not much to do with the outside temperatures, rather with the lack of maintenance of the electrical circuit in the area, but without electricity, no heater, which is always fun when it's chilly). The rain should be settling in for a while now.

Early morning

And since the weekend was splendid, as much in Monterey as in San Francisco, we went to the beach early in the morning. The beach was ours, the water not so chilly, and, of course, we all ended up wetter then expected...

Other beach, other fog...

Not much progress on the weather front. We went to a beach further North to look at a sand sculptures contest. Very laid-back, with several categories, and people pic-nicking between the sculptures. On the menu, several castles, but mainly sea creatures.

Under the fog, the beach...

Not much progress on the fog front, we're trying to enjoy the beach anyway. A tad chilly, but still a lot of fun...

Still no snow on Sunday

So, we went to the beach, the weather was gorgeous, we even got to go waddle in the water, and without shivering...
