Bubbles and seahorses
We're in a seahorse mood these days. All started with Kyan who had to bring the picture of a water animal along with a couple of facts for Share at daycare this week. We chose the seahorse which, Kyan will tell you, can be yellow, orange, red, green or grey, can sport stripes or dots, doesn't have teeth or a stomach (and must then munch all the time), and eats larvaes and tiny brine shrimps. All that gave me ideas for new prints, already on the way with a matching starfish print. Kyan already gave me his order for a stripy "bulles et hippos" pair of pants.
Cultural minute: seahorse is said "hippocampe" in french, from the greek hippos (horse) and campus (sea-monster).
