Abacadabra
Anastasia treated us with a few magic tricks. The best one was to have Miga and Mizoune's cow appear from the bottom of the laundry basket...
The favorite animal
At daycare, children bring something to share with the class every week. The theme this week is "Bring a picture of your favorite animal". And Kyan's favorite animal is... the famous Rainbow Goat with Pink Head. It must be a distant relative of the Saskatch as it's awfully difficult to find a picture of the creature...
Cathedrale
Phase Two of the renovation in the house started on Monday. At this point we only have a few beams left between the living room and the future bedroom above, under the roof. In the morning light, it's quite spiritual. We did manage to leave the upstairs window open, though, which may turn into a small challenge when the temperature will go down (the Summer has finally arrived in San Francisco, it's been close to 100 degrees these past few days while we've been cold all Summer...).

Pandas and umbrellas
The weekly contest of my fabric printing company is "kawaii", which translates into anything cute in japanese style. I realize that I went slightly off by choosing pandas and bamboos since neither are truly japanese, but it should still be within the idea (I've seen some crocodiles on other fabrics... Japanese? Not sure...). Tough competition, though. If you want see the other submissions, and vote, it's HERE. Be patient, there are twelve pages of designs...

End of Summer
Long, quiet weekend to celebrate the end of Summer (Labor Day). Kyan, Anastasia and I finally got a chance to enjoy the summer heat we've been missing all season in the area (Michael is in Europe for a while). Splish splosh at the pool, quiet time in the garden, visit from friends, naps... Ahhhh....

Confusion in the concept...
The other night, I heard some confusing commotion coming from the living room: Anastasia was singing "Happy Birthday...", while Kyan was screaming after her. Turned out, Kyan had built a nice fire truck with flames on top, and, I guess, Anastasia interpreted the vehicle as some birthday related item. It was quite difficult not to laugh, which only made Kyan more upset. In his fury, he even slapped Anastasia with a Lego shovel (sized for a tiny Lego character...), but I suspect that deep inside, he was laughing too...
Here's the thing: fire engine or birthday cake?
